Ottó Herman Memorial Award 2016

In recognition and gratitude of its outstanding work in disseminating knowledge from multiple sciences, the Ottó Herman Institute awarded the Ottó Herman Memorial Award in the "Community" category to the Mecsek Greenway Association.

Foundation of the Award

In 2015 the Ottó Herman Institute founded the Ottó Herman Memorial Award, with the "Person" and "Community" categories, to recognize people and communities that have been worthy of the spirit of the man who had given his name to the Institute, and who had achieved outstanding results in research and/or popular science.

Conditions for giving the award

In the "Person" category, the award may only be granted to a natural person, while in the "Community" category, it can only be granted to a community. Maximum of two people and one community may receive awards every year. A natural person or community can only receive the award once.
The award may be given to people or communities who/which achieved outstanding results in the fields of research and the dissemination of scientific results in multiple sciences, created something exemplary and lasting, contributed in a significant way to the protection of nature and the environment, nature research, as well as the active preservation of the traditional values of the Hungarian people.
